This is on average 4 years longer than most other King Charles Cavalier Spaniel puppy breeders. We provide a health guarantee not because we think you will need it for your cavalier king charles puppy, but because we know you won't. 

Every King Charles Cavalier Spaniel puppy comes with a Trupanion Insurance. How can we do this? West Coast Cavaliers has contracted a special deal with Trupanion to get your puppy insured from the moment it leaves our hands into yours!

West Coast Cavaliers guarantees that each Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy is in good health at the time of transfer. Puppies are examined by a licensed veterinarian prior to placement and are current on age-appropriate care.

We provide a written genetic health guarantee covering serious hereditary conditions that significantly impact quality of life, as outlined in our purchase agreement. We DNA test the sire & dam prior to breeding which allows us to breed with the confidence that the king charles puppies should inherit the same quality health & traits.

• Puppy will leave our facility clean, in good general health.  
• Buyers are required to have their Cavalier puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within five (5) days of transfer to validate the health guarantee.
• De-wormings and immunizations set forth by our veterinarians will have been completed as listed on the Puppy Health Record (in the Puppy Folder).  
• It is generally recognized that intestinal parasites and ear mites are common in puppies, and part of a puppy’s early development, but we make every effort to prevent such parasites.  
• Often, the stress of change and travel can cause intestinal parasites to emerge after the puppy has left its mother.  

De-worming will have been done at age 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age (Pyrantel/Panacur,  ) and the puppy’s first immunization will be administered at 7+ weeks of age.  

Buyer agrees to continue de-parasitization testing and treatment (if necessary) with their veterinarian (see below).  

• Trupanion 30 day Insurance MUST be activated within the first 24 hours of puppy pickup. This is NOT negotiable. It is FREE so no excuse not to do it!
• New owners must take their puppy to their veterinarian within 5 days of receiving pup for examination and to schedule ongoing immunizations. 
• Failure to have the puppy examined by vet within five days of date puppy was received by buyer, or if purchaser fails to provide required immunizations or de-wormings, this health guarantee will be void. 
• The purchaser agrees to have the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within five (5) days of transfer. If the examining veterinarian determines the puppy to have a serious health condition present at the time of transfer, written documentation must be provided within that five-day period. In the event a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a serious hereditary condition that significantly impacts the puppy’s quality of life, and the condition is confirmed by a second veterinary opinion if requested, West Coast Cavaliers will offer a replacement puppy from a future litter at breeder discretion, as outlined in the purchase agreement. 
• Cost of exams and tests are responsibility of buyer. 
• Seller is not responsible for the cost of treatment of worms, parasites, mites or fleas. 
• Genetic defects are covered by this guarantee for 3 years. A written examination from veterinarian must state that genetic defect exists and be accompanied by x-rays and other testing as appropriate. Only MVD, DM is extended to 5 years.
• Buyer must contact seller for consultation, PRIOR to treatments or surgery for genetic defects or other health problems, to review all possible treatments. 
• Buyer must provide seller with written diagnosis from examining vet and receipts. 
• Buyer must keep minimal insurance coverage on dog during the guarantee health coverage period. This assures us that proper health measurements can be taken towards the care of the pet during the five year period. 
• New owners agree to keep their puppy at home and away from other dogs, public places, parks and will use care in allowing others from outside their home to pet or touch the puppy. This protects the puppy from exposure to parvovirus and other infectious illnesses until all immunizations have been completed. 
• New owners will not enroll the puppy in obedience training classes or take the puppy outside the home/back yard, until all immunizations are completed. 
• Purchaser agrees to spay or neuter the puppy at 6 months of age, no later. 
• Purchaser agrees puppy will not be used for breeding. Buyer agrees to send proof of spay or neutering to the sellers in order to receive AKC registration paperwork. 
• Buyer must keep growing puppy at a healthy weight appropriate for its size; must prevent harmful exercise that strains or negatively impacts joints; must feed their puppy a nutritious and quality brand of dog food that is specifically formulated for the particular type of dog. Pawtree is recommended kibble if a raw/homemade diet isn't feasible.

TEMPERAMENT: 

• Buyer understands that puppies nip, chew, bark, and jump up.  
• Buyer agrees to train the puppy to correct these behaviors and to be responsible for the puppy’s ongoing socialization and behavioral training. 
• Buyers inexperienced with raising puppies, and families with children under 6 years of age agree to seek professional help from a certified, in-home trainer within ten days of the puppy’s arrival into the home.  
• All buyers agree to consult with a professional trainer should there be continued negative behaviors. 
• Seller does not guarantee for temperament . 

We want your puppy always has a way home. That is why all our puppies are microchipped and registered before they come to you. We use Fi Nano microchips with gives owners FREE registration for life. You can feel protected knowing that your puppies microchip is internationally scannable on all existing scanners. If your cavalier puppy ever gets lost, a quick scan will get them reunited with you promptly. You can also register your microchip with as many different registries as you want. 

If you get your king charles cavalier spaniel puppy home and realize that paw'renthood isn't for you , you are welcome to return them if it is too much emotionally or financially! Once you buy from us we offer 24/7 lifetime support. Returning the puppy doesn't necessarily guarantee any or all of the purchase price will be refunded, but we do try to make sure the health, happiness and safety of the puppy is taken care of first. If we can rehome the cavalier king charles puppy immediately, we will try to refund (minus costs) as much of the initial purchase price as possible.
