Meet Hunter: The Perfect Companion for an Active Family
Hunter is a charming chocolate tri Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a zest for life. Having earned his AKC Fit Bronze title, Hunter is the epitome of energy and enthusiasm, making him the perfect match for a family that loves to stay active.
A Day in the Life of Hunter
From the moment the sun rises, Hunter is ready to go! He loves to explore, run, and play, making him a wonderful companion for kids who enjoy outdoor activities. Whether it's chasing butterflies in the yard or hearing the word "B-I-R-D" and dashing outside in pursuit, Hunter's energy is contagious. He’s a natural athlete, so a family with a secure, 6-foot fenced yard is a must—this boy can jump!
When it comes to digging, Hunter is always ready to get his paws dirty, so if you have a garden, be prepared for a little help from your furry friend. Despite his adventurous spirit, Hunter is well-behaved indoors. He’s fully potty trained, uses a doggy door with ease, and loves car rides, making him a great travel buddy.
The Perfect Evening Companion
As much as Hunter loves to be on the move during the day, evenings are reserved for snuggles and affection. He transforms into a loving, sweet boy who wants nothing more than to curl up with his family and share some quiet, cozy moments. Whether it's a gentle neck rub or a cuddle on the couch, Hunter’s affectionate side is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day.
What Hunter Needs
Hunter would thrive in a home where he can match his energy with active family members, especially kids who love to play and explore. A large, fenced yard is essential, given his love for running and jumping. While we’re unsure about his compatibility with cats, Hunter’s loving nature suggests he’d do well in a household that can provide the attention and exercise he craves.
If your family is looking for a spirited, loving, and active companion, Hunter is ready to join you on every adventure, big or small. This lovable Cavalier is waiting to become the heart and soul of his new home. Could that be yours? Call or text today.
Meet Reese: A Beloved Cavalier Seeking Her Forever Home
REESE IS ON HOLD
We are delighted to introduce Reese, a chocolate and tan Cavalier with a beautiful white chest. Reese has been with us since she was a puppy and has blessed the world with two beautiful litters, contributing her healthy genes to future generations.
Reese is incredibly sweet and knows her commands, especially when motivated by treats. She loves food and will happily polish off any extras offered, so she does best with a controlled diet. Reese has always lived in a house and does well around people of all ages. While we aren't sure about her interaction with cats, she gets along splendidly with everyone else.
She loves to sit on the back of the couch with her head on your shoulder and enjoys car rides. Her health is great, and she is independent, not requiring full-time attention but loves giving it.
Reese deserves to be cherished like the princess she is. Reese will be available to go to a new home in early November, and she will be spayed before then. The adoption cost is the spay bill fee, generally around $350. If you are interested in giving Reese a loving forever home, please contact us for more information.
AVAILABLITY
No one has ever rescued a West Coast Cavalier. There has never been a need. Our adult cavaliers were once our puppies. They have been raised in our home. We do not have cages. They have had a life of luxury and love. They slept in our bed, lounged on the couches, went for walks on the beach. If you have been following our Facebook page , then you know our Cavaliers. You have seen their life. You recognize the love and attention they get on a regular basis. Our Cavaliers, young and older are loved 100% of the time. When West Coast Cavaliers has a retired Cavaliers that is ready to move onto its next phase of life and have fun adventures with a new family, we have a wait list of people who want to continue their lifetime of love.
If you would like to be on that wait list, please send us an email with PRELOVED in the subject. Tell us who you are interested in and why we should consider your home for one of our PreLoved Cavaliers. Please note we are incredibly picky about who get our Cavaliers. We give preference to followers and families that we are familiar with. You are asking to get a piece of our heart and our legacy. We take that very seriously.
The most transparent answer is that breeders can not keep them all while working towards to ensuring healthy future generations.
Since quality breeders are the source of healthy and happy Cavalier puppies, we have to accept the inevitable. Which is that we can not keep all of our Cavaliers. In fact, most state laws often mandate the amount of adult dogs a breeder can keep. We know we must rehome them which also becomes the responsibility of quality breeders; finding the very best forever home for their adults.
There are wonderful breeders. Breeders who love the breed and invest all their heart into their beloved Cavaliers. Their lives revolve around the care and well-being of each Cavalier. Anyone who has researched Cavalier breeders knows this and has no problem supporting their chosen breeder. How are they rewarded? By receiving a healthy, well-bred PreLoved adult retired Cavalier that brings years of love and joy into their home. These PreLoved Cavaliers have had annual exams, heart checks, teeth checked, immunizations and grooming. They have been well fed, given supplements and often in amazing health. They have great temperaments, or else they wouldn't have been bred. In fact, the breeder knows everything about the Cavalier from the very day they were born.
So why would a breeder rehome an adult Cavalier?
When a litter is born and there is an exceptional Cavalier puppy that passes all the DNA tests 100% & looks to be a promising addition to the future lines, breeders will keep that puppy for the possibility of future breeding. There is no absolutes however. Perhaps as the puppy grows, it doesn't quite meet the breed standards as the breeder had hoped. Maybe the puppy doesn't like to show. Maybe it is just not exactly 100% what the breeder had hoped for. Does that make it a bad Cavalier? ABSOLUTELY NOT! It just won't work for the program as hoped. This is a fantastic opportunity for a loving family to obtain an adult Cavalier and a reduced price or perhaps even free. This comes with the condition that the Cavalier is spayed or neutered.
Let's look at another case where an adult Cavalier might become available. When a breeder has an exceptional female Cavalier that meets standards or is very close to meeting standards, they will breed her with a complimentary male that will hopefully "round out" any slight flaws she may have. Perhaps she is a little taller than standards set (by the AKC or the CKCS 😓 ) then a breeder may breed her with a shorter male. Once the desired outcome is achieved, the female has done her wonderful job of contributing her good genes towards the future lines of Cavaliers. It is time for her to bast in her glory, and spend her life living in the lap of luxury. That lap... being your lap!
PreLoved Cavaliers from a quality breeder make wonderful companions. These adult cavaliers have already spent their lives living with a loving breeder family, and they will transition in a loving home where they are the only dog, or at the very least; a member of a smaller pack, where they can be spoiled and enjoy the rest of their years. Most Preloved retired Cavaliers are 3 or 4 years old and have so much love, time and memories left to share.
There are many benefits to getting a retired breeding dog. These dogs are often well-trained and socialized, and they often already know the basic commands. They are also house-trained and good with children.
